When Taliesin passed on I decided to donate most of what was his. I gave all his medication to Animal 911, his different insulins, the case of IV bags, needles, and tubing et. al. I gave it with the stipulation that someone who couldn't otherwise afford to take care of their sick cat use it, that or help someone who can't afford the total bill of Animal 911's services with a discount... These medications are very pricey and I know the ache to want to do everything you can for your baby but money is tight. When I was broke I luckily had credit cards and an understanding family who would help me out but not everyone has that.

I donated the large dog carrying case and his towels to C.A.R.E. When he still had his colon (he had 'mega colon'... a condition that caused him to have to go to the vet for an enema about every three days... so he had an operation to remove his colon) I would separate him from the other cats in this large dog carrying case. I would put him in there 2 times a week at night and if he didn't poop off to the vet he would go. Well we don't need it any more so I donated it to C.A.R.E.

Taliesin wouldn't use a litter box, but Taliesin would go on towels. More recently when he got very ill with the kidney failure I had to separate him, in the spare bedroom in our new home, so I could check his urine every night to see if he needed insulin. He had a set of towels I called his 'peep towels'. Once he passed on I donated them all (after several through washings) and the laundry basket for them to C.A.R.E. I however kept his 'sleep towel' which was the one I wouldn't have to change nightly because he would only do his business on his 'peep towel'.

So I donated what was his so something good would come out of this, so others could use his things. Something else that was his is my hair. He would always want to sleep on my head when I was in bed and he would end up sleeping on my hair. My hair was his too so I decided to donate that as well. I cut my hair a week after he passed on and I am donating 16" of my hair in a braid. I am sending it to Wigs for Kids which is a non-profit organization that makes real hair wigs for people, mostly children, suffering from medical hair loss. A child who is recovering from cancer and has to endure chemotherapy will some day be able to wear a wig made of my hair and feel good about his/herself again. That makes me feel pretty good. So I cut my hair. I probably cut about 17"-18" off in total (to even it up).
